UDS: Keynote
October 31, 2011 2 Comments
Fitting for an LTS keynote there was a focus on making Precise Pangolin ‘pixel perfect’. I was impressed with the focus on making it easy to install two desktops or 20,000 desktops, or 2 servers or 20,000 servers. The change in a five year support cycle for LTS is due to a growing number of vendors that sell to the enterprise sector. Also, impressive is the focus on expanding Ubuntu to phones, tablets, televisions and car install GPS systems.
I will blog more about the sessions I am in throughout the week.

I was disappointed to see the UDS video feed was not operational and the Icecast audio feeds don’t work with Banshee.
And mention of Marks 200 million user goal and the current progress towards that goal?
If not then why should be believe him this time when he say ubuntu will be on tablets and smart phones
